Help Carmel Bats Take Flight
Carmel Bats needs your financial support to give our native bats a safe home across the Monterey Peninsula.
As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on community donations to buy the lumber, hardware, mounting equipment, tools, and supplies needed to build and install bat boxes at no cost to qualifying homeowners.
Every donation helps restore lost roosting habitat, protect native bat populations, and expand our peninsula-wide network of bat boxes. Our volunteers contribute their time, skills, and enthusiasm. You provide the materials and equipment that make it all possible. With deadly mosquito-borne diseases such as West Nile virus, dengue, Zika, and chikungunya raising public health concerns, we also want to support natural insect predators as part of a broader effort to reduce mosquito-related risks.
Our mission is simple: give bats a home, strengthen our natural environment, and put more mosquitoes on the menu!
But building bat boxes is only half our mission. We also need to spread the word.
Your donations help fund our community education and outreach efforts, including maintaining our website, developing a supporter database, publishing educational content on Facebook, Instagram, and Nextdoor, and producing entertaining public service announcement (PSA) videos featuring AI-powered talking bats. Through creativity, humor, and modern technology, we aim to reach thousands of Monterey Peninsula residents with important messages about bat conservation, mosquito awareness, habitat loss, and the value of nature's nighttime insect hunters. We want to encourage our community to take preventive action before mosquito-borne diseases become a greater local threat.
Help Carmel Bats spread its wings! Donate today to build more bat boxes, educate more neighbors, protect our native bats, and put mosquitoes where they belong. On the dinner menu!
